A sensory-friendly performance adapted for young audiences with special needs, incorporating sensory elements and direct interaction with the audience, along with visual preparation materials.
Two sisters find an injured bird in their yard and decide to heal it. Through the world of imagination, they sail in a boat to Africa, encounter frightening animals and clever snails, make it rain, and fly into the sky with wings. Along their journey, they reconnect with themselves and with each other.
A performance by two actresses and a puppet about the delicate relationships between siblings, imagination, and the power of compassion.
Triggers: references to injury and separation; fear of darkness; paper rustling; lights being turned off and a flashlight being turned on; live singing on stage. There is a lot of spoken text.
Accessibility: During the performance, audience members may stand up, leave, or move around. The auditorium is not darkened, and preparation materials will be distributed at the entrance.
