Exhibition opening – installation by Natan Caspi
The “Shared Home” installation was born from a simple yet fundamental question: Is it possible to see before looking for what separates us? When we gaze into an open window, do we search for differentiating marks or for moments that bring people together?
The installation is a model of a building facade constructed by Barak Tsipori, a carpenter-artist. It’s composed of local Jewish and Arab elements that together create a shared home. The building combines multicultural Israeli design, featuring arches and decorations alongside exposed stone, much like the streets we live on.
The building has 42 windows, and in each window a photograph of an apartment: 21 apartments of Arabs and 21 apartments of Jews, seemingly living together . On the ground floor, there are two bookstores, one Arabic and one Jewish.
Instead of another political slogan, I’m building a building with windows, eyes that look outwards, and hopefully, inwards as well. A view from the outside into an interior that isn’t always seen, into private spaces that become a collective image of living together.

Nathan Caspi, Photographer-Artist He has exhibited solo shows and participated in group exhibitions. He specializes in portrait photography, primarily of older adults. In 2019, he won second place in the “Local Testimony” photography exhibition in the culture and urbanism category for his portrait series “Ruti.”
He has published two photography books: “Seventy, Eighty, Ninety” in 2022, and “From Where I Stand: Portraits” in 2023.
In his past, he was a television and film producer and director. From 1990 to 2002, he was the Head of the Documentary Department at Channel 1 (now defunct). He produced dozens of award-winning documentary films and series in Israel and worldwide.
